The team at SBD Shades and LouvreLux got together and designed an exquisite Opening Roof or Operable Louvre Roof timber pergola structure to utilise this space in a practical but spectacular manner. Being a Heritage overlay on the block, we had to facilitate both a Planning and Building Permit for this particular project. The system spans 7.5m and projects from the existing weatherboard by 3.5m. The operable louvres rotate open to almost 360 degrees, letting light into the back room in the colder months with the touch of a button. The timber pergola contains lighting features along with thermofilm heating to warm the space and maximise its use all year round. The addition of Ziptrak mesh blinds give the homeowners extra protection from wind, sun, rain and insects whilst also creating another ‘room’ to the house. This louvre pergola package gives the owners all the flexibility they need to utilise this space across all seasons.
