Set on a historic landmark that is the Pentridge Prison, we had the pleasure of working alongside the highly experienced building entity Construction Engineering (CE). The redevelopment of the iconic jail features a state-of-the-art Adina Hotel valued as an $100million build, as our sleek Suntech systems were chosen to attribute to the hotel restaurants’ outdoor dining space.

Our Turkey suppliers Suntech are driven by attention-to-detail designs that conceptualise and create innovative ways to transform outdoor living experiences. The capabilities of their distinctive AXIS MAX Model enabled our services to provide CE with a customisable system that could configure to the large modular dimensions of the restaurant area. The rotatable bioclimatic system offers the adjustable sunlight versatility and 100% water resistant protection with lateral gutters for rainfall run-off. The expertise of our client formed and designed a steel frame that simplified our installation process, allowing us to position the system on top of the ready-built frame. This additionally accompanied internal plumbing fit-off for our drainpipe connections for a neat finish. The six-bay project spanning 22metres incorporated roughly 3.5m x 9m interconnected systems, creating a compact design delivering high functionality performance.

The outcome of the landscape generated a unique ambient mood as the dim lighting and backdrop of the prison wall has created a hauntingly beautiful environment. The six-channel remote and wired rain sensor feature, allow the hosts to provide their guests with a flexible and practical dining experience. The dual-purpose enjoyment of this space is now maximised through the private compromise of the closed roof or the refreshing delivery of the adjustable open louvred roof.
