Ritz Ghougassian Architects approached us requiring a premium outdoor shading solution for this East Malvern-based café which was undergoing a major renovation. In conjunction with builder Wis Construction, we coordinated the timber pergola build to suit the Eclipse operable louvres.

An Australian-made product, the Eclipse operable motorised louvres can be cut to fit most dimensions, making them the perfect solution to fit the timber pergola. We installed two bays of louvres spanning just over 2 meters and running just over 4 meters. As an all-weather system, these louvres will catch all rainfall when closed, so it was important that all flashing run the entire perimeter of each bay.

The addition of the Eclipse Louvre Roof transformed the courtyard into practical and comfortable space for patrons whilst creating a clean, modern finish to the space. With a near 180-degree rotation, the louvre roof offers owners complete control over the level of sunlight, shade and ventilation- all at the touch of a button! An outdoor space that can be utilised year-round is a real asset to any hospitality venue and will give this charming café an edge against its competitors.
