A private client contacted our sales team with the intention of creating an outdoor transformation for their spectacular panoramic Yarra Valley views. The Dixons Creek property visualised the modern pitched roof farmhouse, with a back veranda stretching out to a pool area. The high elevation of the build caused the client to consider the possibility of an outdoor pergola/roof that can protect their use of the patio from the unpredictable weather conditions.

Within the design process we offer the opportunity to visit our showroom in Yarraville, to provide our potential clients with the scope and detail of the systems we supply and install. Furthermore, we specifically cater to the architectural intent or clientele concept to construct a space that ticks all the boxes for their preference. ARB Design provided the drawings specs of the build which we were able to interpret and integrate with our client’s desire for the space. Ultimately, the Suntech Exxen Model was agreed upon as the suitable option with its versatile functionality. These decisions are always negotiated to ensure we are working toward the financial feasibility of the client. The fully retractable system grants absolute water protection and the uniquely flexible movement through a synced remote. Matching the drawings scope, the customised Suntech system was 7m in width x 4.3m in projection.

The install procedure was communicated closely with the builder as our standardised engineering requirements were discussed to determine the best structurally sound solution. The builder attached a timber lintel to the internal steel frame of the back façade, this allowed our gutter beam to connect into the external cladding above the open window layout. The two columns were aligned with packed LVL timber footings that support the structural stability of the Suntech system. In addition, pre-planned plumbing fit-off underneath the deck was arranged to meet our internally hidden downpipe from the systems columns.

The end result on this project speaks for itself. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the space come alive through the sleek Suntech Exxen Model. A great pleasure to work with the client and their magnificent new property in Dixons Creek.
