Structures By Design and LouvreLux received an enquiry from the architect of this stunning triple story house located on the Boulevard. The owners were interested in installing an opening louvre roof to accommodate their outdoor pool area. The house was undergoing a large renovation with most parts still under construction including the outdoor area which had an existing brick pergola spanning 4000mm wide x 6380mm long. With a clear vision for the project, the client opted for the Eclipse Louvre Roof System. We got to work drafting some 3D design models/renders and lodging necessary permits along with engineer compliance.
The client pointed out that the brickwork would be wrapped with a “Woodland Grey” alucobond matching the colour of our gutters and flashings. Once wrapped, we began works installing the surrounding colorbond flashings and gutters to collect rainfall as well as the support tracking and lock angles. We were able to contain the area to one operable bay with our maximum louvre size spanning 4m wide. An actuator motor had to be implemented for extra strength to accommodate the larger size singular bay (over 18sqm). Last but not least the louvres which were chromated and powder coated in “Dulux Duralloy White” were cut to size and installed with the relevant pins.
Once aligned and motorised, the opening louvre roof blended seamlessly with the traditional style of the house and served its full purpose for the outdoor area. Rotating open to an almost 360 degree angle, the system has the flexibility to allow plenty of light in, but also to provide complete weather protection and shade when fully closed. Versatile, practical and visually appealing, our louvres were the perfect addition to complement this family home.
